the 2008-2009 Youth Group year:
President - Shelby Nelson

Treasurer - Sara Nelson
Past President - Chase Bauman
This dynamic group is for students in middle
and high school. They
meet the first Sunday of the month at 9:45 a.m. to plan community
service projects, social activities, and lock-ins. The Youth
Group is independently organized and the kids set their own
goals, elect their own officers and make their own rules. They
always have a great time!
St. Andrew’s Youth Group community
service projects includes two Angel Tree drives for the Nevada
Partnership for Homeless Youth, collecting backpacks
and school supplies for Lutheran Social Services of Nevada,
creating
care packages for our Military personal overseas, and nine
years of collecting money for the National Souperbowl
of Caring. The Youth Group also loves to donate money to several
church related causes: scholarships for students, building
fund, furniture for the new building. The group holds an annual
garage sale in the fall to raise money for the year’s
activities and grants.
For
every three community service tasks the youth undertake, they
will schedule a fun social activity. Some of those activities
include: Laser Tag, The Adventure Dome, lock – in’s
at the church, dinner out at restaurant, and movies.

St. Andrew Lutheran Church embraces our greatest asset, our children.
From infancy through high school, we have and are developing many
programs for our youth. We are always looking for new ways to improve
our services to our congregation and visitors. If I can be of any
