Lincoln on Passion
“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” - Abraham Lincoln
Worship tonight at 6:30 PM
Come and give thanks to God for all our blessings. Tonight's worship will include scripture, song and prayer. 6:30 PM in St. Andrew's sanctuary.
St. Andrew Lutheran Church is a church ... - whose unity is in Jesus, who gathers us around word and water, wine and bread, - which believes that God is calling us into the world—together, - that rolls up our sleeves and gets to work, - that belongs to Christ, - that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace everyone as a whole person questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world. There is a place for you here.
Centering Prayer Wednesdays at 12:00 noon
Centering Prayer is an ancient Christian practice in which we can experience God’s presence within us in a deep and powerful way. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. In this practice we will emphasize the fact that prayer is a personal relationship with God. Join Brian Neely on Wednesdays at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary. For questions call 702-255-1990 Ext. 223.
The SHIFT logo will be appearing in various places. It's a reminder that as the church was reforming with a huge SHIFT on October 31, 1517 the 21st century church still reforms, too. One SHIFT for us will be the fact that we will start our seasonal ministries much earlier in August. As the Clark County School District SHIFTS it's start time and calendar congregations SHIFT as well. Our celebrations and traditions, such as Rally Day, will give way to a less "flashy" but, perhaps, even more meaningful celebrations like NEW BEGINNINGS.
