Farewell to Pastor Phil!
Pastor Phil Shuart is retiring. Please join us for worship on November 24
(8:30 and 10:00am) and a reception (11:00am-1:00pm) to send him into retirement with our blessings. Pastor Phil came to St. Andrew as an interim pastor in 2001. That interim soon became a very long pastorate. We are grateful to God for his leadership with us!
The Season of Pentecost
After Holy Trinity Sunday the church moves into the season in which Sundays are numbered "after Pentecost". Often it is referred to as the "long green season" because the liturgical color is green and it is long because the Sundays after Pentecost for this year will go all the way to The Twenty-sixth Sunday after Pentecost. So for 26 weeks we have the color green. The season falls withing the late Spring and Summer months, when we see the natural world grow green with leaves, vines and crops. Green symbolizes our own spiritual growth in Christ, nurtured by the Holy Spirit.
